Elevate family dinner with quick and tasty Cantonese beef, infused with Asian flair. Ready in just 35 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 pound beef boneless sirloin tip steak
  • 3/4 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic (9 cloves)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped gingerroot
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 package (16 ounces) frozen stir-fry bell peppers and onions, thawed and drained
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
Instructions:
  • Prepare the beef by trimming the fat, then cutting it into thin strips. Combine broth, garlic, gingerroot, soy sauce, brown sugar, and five-spice powder in a bowl. Mix cornstarch with water and add it to the broth mixture. Coat the beef with the mixture and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Separate beef from marinade. Coat a nonstick wok or a 12-inch skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Sauté beef for 2 minutes. Add bell peppers, onions, and reserved marinade. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until sauce thickens. Serve over rice.
