Indulgent oatmeal cookie bars with layers of gooey caramel, chocolate chips, and nuts. Deliciously sweet and satisfying.
Ingredients:
  • 32 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 5 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Prepare a rich and indulgent sauce by melting caramels with luscious heavy cream in a saucepan over gentle heat. Stir gently until the sauce is velvety smooth. Set aside this decadent sauce for later use.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Add melted butter and mix until fully incorporated. Press half of the oat mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • After baking the crust for 8 minutes in the preheated oven, sprinkle it with chocolate chips and walnuts. Drizzle sauce over the top and crumble the remaining oat mixture.
  • Bake for an additional 12 minutes until the top is lightly toasted. Then, cut into squares while still warm.
