Easy caramel popcorn balls made with sweetened condensed milk, butter, and freshly popped corn kernels for a delightful and irresistible snack.
Ingredients:
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 2.5 cups unpopped popcorn
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.66666698455811 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a 4-quart saucepan over high heat. Add 1/2 cup of popping corn and continuously move the pan until the popping stops, about 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer the popped corn to a dish, keep warm, and continue popping the rest of the corn in the same manner.
  • Combine sugar, condensed milk, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and simmer until it reaches 240 degrees F (115 degrees C) on a candy thermometer. Stir in vanilla.
  • Drizzle caramel over the popped corn and mix until fully coated.
  • Grease your hands lightly and form the popcorn mixture into 15 balls; allow them to cool completely.
