Impressive, gooey French toast made in one pan. Serve with fresh fruits for a customizable special occasion breakfast that's easy to make.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 10 slices (1 inch thick) French bread
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • Fresh berries, banana slices, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, Bisquick™ mix, milk, and cinnamon until well combined. Arrange bread slices in a single layer, cut side down, in a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the slices and allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a 10-inch ovenproof skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat until smooth. Remove skillet from heat and stir in brown sugar until fully combined. Place bread slices cut side down in the skillet, fitting them tightly together and tearing to fill any gaps. Disregard any leftover egg mixture.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the top of the toast is golden brown. Let the skillet cool on a rack for 5 minutes, then run a metal spatula around the edges to loosen. Place a heatproof serving plate upside down over the skillet, then carefully turn both over. Remove the skillet, scraping any extra caramel from the bottom onto the French toast. Finish by topping with berries and bananas, and serve immediately.
