Indulgent Caramilk twist on hot eggnog: a decadent, velvety spiked treat that blurs the line between drink and dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 180g packet Caramilk chocolate
  • 250ml (1 cup) thickened cream, plus extra, whipped, to serve
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) spiced rum
  • Ground nutmeg, to serve
Instructions:
  • With a vegetable peeler, create delicate 1 tablespoon shavings from one side of the chocolate block. Finely chop the rest of the chocolate.
  • Combine the chopped chocolate, cream, and milk in a saucepan over gentle heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate melts and the mixture almost reaches a boil. Remove from the heat.
  • In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks, vanilla, and sugar with a balloon whisk until pale and thick. Gradually whisk in the hot cream mixture. Return to saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir for 8-10 minutes until slightly thickened (coats the back of a spoon). Avoid boiling. Stir in rum.
  • Transfer the mixture into 2 heatproof serving glasses, then drizzle with additional cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings and a hint of nutmeg for an extra touch of flavor.
