Pears soak up rich flavors when poached, perfect for a cozy winter dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 120g (3/4 cup, lightly packed) brown sugar
  • 375mls (1 1/2 cups) water
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 4 firm medium williams pears, peeled, quartered, cored
  • 100g premium blend creamy yoghurt (Jalna brand)
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and ground cardamom. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  • Turn up the heat to medium and gently place the pears in the pot. Let them simmer uncovered and turn them occasionally for about 15 minutes, or until they are perfectly tender.
  • Top the dish with a generous spoonful of yogurt and enjoy while warm.
