Cauliflower in cheese sauce

Ingredients:
  • 500g cauliflower
  • 500ml milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 40g butter
  • 40g plain flour
  • 250.00 ml tasty cheese, (or a combination of parmesan and tasty)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Steam the cauliflower until it is tender yet still slightly crisp.
  • Enhance milk by infusing it with aromatic bay leaf, onion, and garlic. Bring to a boil, then allow to rest for approximately 15 minutes to intensify the flavors.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook for a couple of minutes. Pour milk mixture through a strainer into a bowl.
  • Whisk milk into the butter and flour mixture until slightly thickened. Stir in cheese. Pour the cheese sauce over the cauliflower in the baking dish.
  • Top with a generous amount of cheese and bake until golden brown.
