Grandma's chai spiced Russian tea cakes - a warm blend of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in every bite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cardamom
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Cream butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Incorporate flour, egg yolks, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and salt until a smooth dough forms. Form 1-inch balls from the dough and arrange them on baking sheets.
  • Bake until golden in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine powdered sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom. Roll warm cookies in the mixture. Let cool for 5 minutes, then give them another roll.
