Elevate your tea time with these delicious tea-infused treats!
Ingredients:
  • 150.00 gm almond meal (ground almonds)
  • 92.50 gm semolina
  • 100.00 gm milk powder
  • 20.00 ml loose-leaf chai tea, or
  • 4 chai tea bags (see note)
  • 100g butter, melted, cooled
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 82.50 ml slivered almonds
  • Icing sugar, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced. Grease a 3cm-deep, 17cm x 27cm slice pan and line with baking paper, leaving a 2cm overhang on the long sides.
  • In a bowl, mix together almond meal, semolina, milk powder, sugar, and tea leaves. Stir in butter and eggs until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan and top it with a generous sprinkle of almonds. Bake it for 40 to 45 minutes until it turns a beautiful golden color and feels firm to the touch. Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then move it to a wire rack to cool down completely. Finish it off by dusting with a touch of icing sugar, cutting it into triangles, and serving.
