Elevate your mint julep with cognac and sparkling wine for a twist that's perfect for derby day.
Ingredients:
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 0.5 cup crushed ice, or as needed
  • 2 fluid ounces cognac
  • 2 fluid ounces chilled dry sparkling wine, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a tall cocktail glass, layer with mint leaves followed by sugar and warm water. Gently muddle the mixture, then add crushed ice. Pour in cognac and stir. Finish by topping with sparkling wine.
