Charred Brussels sprout leaves with sweet soy and honey

Fiber-rich, low-fat side dish to accompany any roast dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 20.00 ml kecap manis
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 28.60 gm honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely grated
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 18.40 gm vegetable oil
  • 500g Brussels sprouts, trimmed, leaves separated
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, halved, cut into wedges
Instructions:
  • Combine kecap manis, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic in a bowl, then mix well.
  • In a large frying pan or wok over high heat, heat vegetable oil until sizzling. Add Brussels sprout leaves and let them char for 2 minutes without stirring. Throw in onion and cook for 1 minute while gently tossing. Pour in soy mixture and toss for another 30 seconds until everything is coated. Transfer to a serving plate and serve with lime wedges.
