Amaro cocktail with grilled lemon, scorched citrus twist, or mini paper airplane garnish for campfire vibes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lemon
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Ice
  • 3/4 ounces bourbon
  • 3/4 ounces Aperol
  • 3/4 ounces amaro (such as Cardamaro)
  • Charred lemon twist, for garnish
Instructions:
  • Cut a lemon in half and generously sprinkle sugar over the exposed cut sides.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat (350-375 degrees F (175-190 degrees C)) or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill lemon cut sides down until lightly charred, approximately 5 minutes. Allow the lemon to cool, then juice it to get 3/4 ounce of juice.
  • 1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. 2. Pour in bourbon, Aperol, amaro, and lemon juice. 3. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds until the shaker is frosted. 4. Strain into a glass. 5. Garnish with a lemon twist.
