Fluffy cheddar cheese puffs, perfect for any event - only 5 ingredients!
Ingredients:
  • 1 stick butter (8 Tbsp or 4 ounces)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme (or rosemary)
  • Freshly ground pepper
Instructions:
  • Combine water, butter, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and swiftly stir in the flour until a thick dough ball forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Use a wooden spoon for best results. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add eggs gradually: Take the pan off the heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes to ensure an even temperature. Aim for warm dough without being so hot that the eggs cook upon contact. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition until fully combined, resulting in a creamy dough. Feel free to use a mixer or a wooden spoon for this step.
  • Blend in the grated cheese, fragrant thyme, and a sprinkle of freshly ground pepper.
  • Dollop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough on a lined baking sheet: Preheat oven to 425°F. Space the dough balls at least an inch apart on the prepared baking sheet lined with silicone or parchment paper.
  • Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and continue baking for 15-20 minutes until puffed up and lightly golden. If you enjoyed the recipe, please consider leaving a star rating and comment below!
