Indulgent quiche with a crispy hash brown crust, loaded with smoky bacon, savory sausage, and a blend of cheeses for a rich and satisfying bite.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups Southern-style hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 medium roasted red pepper, diced
  • 5 slices precooked bacon, chopped
  • 0.5 (3 ounce) andouille sausage, diced
  • 0.5 cup shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it nice and toasty for your dish.
  • Combine hash brown potatoes with melted butter in a bowl, then press the mixture into a 9-inch glass pie pan to create the crust.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, approximately 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Combine cream, eggs, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a bowl and let it come to room temperature while the crust bakes.
  • Take out the golden crust from the oven and reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Top the cooled crust with red pepper, bacon, and sausage. Sprinkle a generous amount of Gouda and Cheddar cheeses on top, followed by pouring in the egg mixture.
  • Bake in the oven until a knife comes out clean from the center, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Allow the dish to cool slightly for about 10 minutes before serving.
