Indulgent pigs in a blanket with gooey mozzarella, savory Italian sausage, and flaky puff pastry. Perfect with marinara dipping sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 6 links cooked italian chicken sausage, halved lengthwise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry and cut into 12 equal rectangles. Place a piece of sausage in the center of each dough rectangle and top with a cheese stick. Roll the pastry around the filling, ensuring the edges are sealed. Place the rolls, seam side down, on the baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  • Gently coat each roll with a thin layer of egg wash. Then, make 3 small slits on the top of each roll using a small sharp knife.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 17-20 minutes until beautifully puffed and golden brown. Enjoy with marinara sauce for dipping.
