Brown ale brings out spicy flavors in this irresistible snack mix!
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
  • 4 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
  • 2 cups pretzel nuggets
  • 1 1/2 cups beer nuts
  • 1/2 cup brown ale beer
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
Instructions:
  • Combine the cereals, pretzels, and nuts in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • In a microwave-safe 4-cup measuring cup, pour ale. Microwave on High for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes until it reduces to 1/4 cup. Add brown sugar, butter, chili powder, salt, and red pepper. Microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Drizzle over cereal mixture and mix until well coated.
  • Microwave on High for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes until mixture starts to brown. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, then store in an airtight container.
