Succulent shredded chicken cooked with fluffy dumplings in a rich, comforting soup.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose baking mix
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cold water
Instructions:
  • Simmer the chicken in 6 cups of water in a large pot over medium heat until fully cooked. Remove the chicken, allow it to cool, and then shred it.
  • Add the shredded chicken back to the pot and mix in butter, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the chicken reaches your preferred level of tenderness, which could take between 15 to 60 minutes.
  • Combine baking mix and milk until smooth in one bowl, and mix flour with 1/2 cup cold water until smooth in another bowl. Stir the flour mixture into the soup and bring it to a rolling boil.
  • Using a tablespoon, add dollops of baking mix mixture into the boiling water, spaced evenly around the chicken. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes uncovered. Then cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Remember to gently slide a spatula under the dumplings to avoid any sticking. Serve while hot.
