Ingredients:
  • 500g chicken breast fillets
  • 20ml vegetable oil
  • Grated ginger, to garnish (optional)
  • 40.00 ml sake (rice wine)
  • 84.00 gm soy sauce
  • 80.00 ml mirin (rice wine vinegar)
  • 36.00 gm sugar
Instructions:
  • Tenderize the chicken by piercing it with a fork.
  • Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl, then refrigerate chicken in the mixture for 15 minutes.
  • In a hot frying pan, brown the chicken skin on medium heat, then flip and cook on low heat until both sides are crispy.
  • Transfer the flavorful marinade sauce onto the pan with the chicken. Cover and gently steam the chicken over low heat until fully cooked.
  • Uncover and simmer until the sauce thickens, then remove from heat.
  • Slice the chicken and arrange on a serving plate. Drizzle the luscious sauce over the teriyaki chicken. Sprinkle with freshly grated ginger for added flavor, if desired.
