Maple bourbon wings, a sweet and sticky twist on the classic American favorite. Easy to make and perfect for a cozy Friday night in!
Ingredients:
  • 6 (about 850g) chicken wings
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) bourbon whiskey
  • 10.40 gm red Tabasco pepper sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • Large pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 75g (1/4 cup) Light Sour Cream
  • 65g (1/4 cup) mayonnaise
  • 80g blue cheese, coarsely chopped
  • 5.30 gm fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, crushed
Instructions:
  • Trim and discard wing tips using sharp kitchen scissors. Cut wings in half at the joint and arrange in a single layer in a large glass or ovenproof dish.
  • Mix together the maple syrup, bourbon, Tabasco sauce, garlic, cumin, and cayenne pepper in a pitcher. Pour the mixture over the chicken and make sure it is evenly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 6 hours to marinate.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Unwrap the chicken and bake, turning occasionally, for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • In a blender, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, blue cheese, lemon juice, and garlic. Blend until smooth to create the blue cheese sauce.
  • Transfer the delectably seasoned chicken to a beautiful serving platter and generously spoon the delicious sauce over the top for a stunning presentation. Serve immediately and enjoy the mouthwatering flavors!
