Impress your guests with a delicious asparagus and chicken quiche, loaded with melted cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 container (8 oz) sour cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 1 box (9 oz) frozen asparagus cuts, thawed, drained
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Combine flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and oil in a medium bowl using a fork until moistened. Add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until fully absorbed. Shape the pastry into a ball. Press the pastry into an ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, forming a crust up to 1/2 inch from the top. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, milk, onion, 1 teaspoon of salt, nutmeg, and ground red pepper until smooth.
  • Layer chicken, bell pepper, asparagus, and cheese evenly over partially baked crust. Gently pour the egg mixture over the top.
  • Lower the oven temperature to 325°F. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
