Cheers to kicking off the festive season!
Ingredients:
  • 250ml (1 cup) fresh orange
  • juice, strained
  • 55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
  • 2 x 7cm cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 x 750ml btls chilled sparkling shiraz
Instructions:
  • Combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar melts. Bring to a boil, then simmer until syrup thickens. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to a bowl and seal with plastic wrap, then refrigerate for 3 hours to enhance the flavors.
  • Remove the aromatic cinnamon sticks and cloves, pour the flavorful syrup into serving glasses, top off with sparkling wine, and serve promptly.
