Ingredients:
  • 2 bunches gai lan (Chinese broccoli), washed
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) oyster sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 31.50 gm light soy sauce
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 18.40 gm vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Separate the gai lan stems from the leaves. Halve the stems lengthwise and then halve the leaves crosswise.
  • In a small bowl, mix together oyster sauce, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Blanch the gai lan in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until vibrant green and crisp-tender. Shock in cold water, drain, and plate.
  • In a saucepan, briefly heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil over high heat. Pour the hot oils over the gai lan, drizzle with the oyster sauce mixture, and serve immediately.
