Delicious Chinese-style sauce perfect for banquets or as a unique twist on roasts. Ideal gift for foodies.
Ingredients:
  • 1kg stoned mixed plums, halved
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 20.00 ml fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 180.00 gm brown sugar
  • 250.00 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 125.00 gm water
  • 21.00 gm lemon juice
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over high heat, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook while stirring for about 30 minutes until the plums collapse.
  • Blend the mixture with a stick blender until it is smooth. Transfer the hot sauce into sterilized bottles, then seal, label, and date them.
