Indulge in a decadent choc-caramel brownie slice with this simple recipe!
Ingredients:
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting
  • 215.00 gm caster sugar
  • 125g butter, chopped
  • 150g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 125.00 gm water, hot
  • 187.50 ml plain flour
  • 37.50 gm self-raising flour
  • 32.50 gm cocoa powder
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 380g can top 'n' fill, mixed well (see Notes)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C. Lightly grease an 18 x 28 cm slice pan and line the base and sides with baking paper.
  • Combine sugar, butter, chocolate, and water in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth (4-5 mins). Transfer to a bowl and cool for 10 mins.
  • Combine the flours and cocoa by sifting them together. Fold this mixture into the chocolate mixture along with the egg until fully combined.
  • Spread half of the mixture evenly into the pan. Generously drizzle with decadent caramel sauce. Gently top with the rest of the cake batter.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until fully cooked. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares, dust with cocoa, and store in an airtight container.
