Indulgent chocolate candy cane cookies, a new holiday must-have!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup margarine
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 (1 ounce) squares white baking chocolate, melted
  • 1 small candy cane, crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt by sifting them into a bowl.
  • Cream together brown sugar and margarine in a bowl using an electric mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and peppermint extract until the mixture is light and creamy. Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Spoon out dough in 1/4-cup portions onto the lined sheets, ensuring cookies are spaced 3 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 17 minutes until the edges are lightly toasted. Then, allow them to cool on the cookie sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely for about 20 minutes.
  • Drizzle melted white chocolate over each cookie, then sprinkle crushed candy canes on top. Allow the white chocolate to cool completely, about 15 to 20 minutes, before serving.
