Chocolate caramel brownie hearts

Whip up romantic Valentine's Day sweets to melt hearts.
Ingredients:
  • 150g butter, chopped
  • 180g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 107.50 gm caster sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 312.50 ml plain flour
  • 220g caramello chocolate, frozen, chopped (see tip)
  • Cocoa powder, to decorate
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease an 18cm x 28cm rectangular slice pan and line the base and sides with baking paper, leaving a 2cm overhang at the long ends.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and dark chocolate, stirring until smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
  • Combine whisked eggs with chocolate mixture, then incorporate sifted flour and cocoa by whisking until fully combined. Gently fold in caramello chocolate. Spread mixture evenly in prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until the top is firm to the touch.
  • Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
  • Cut heart-shaped brownies using a 5cm cutter and sprinkle with cocoa powder before serving.
