Moist chocolate apple cake with a hint of spice, studded with chocolate chips for extra decadence. Easy, quick, and irresistibly delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups apples - peeled, cored and finely diced
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a gentle 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and generously grease and flour a 9- or 10-inch tube pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, followed by water and vanilla extract.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Gradually mix this into the creamed mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in freshly chopped apples and decadent chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Transfer the luscious batter into the lined pan.
  • Bake the cake for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Then, transfer the cake to a cooling rack.
