Indulgent blondie cheesecake fusion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Mix fluffy shortening, rich brown sugar, and a hint of sweet white sugar in a bowl. Add 3 eggs one at a time, then infuse with aromatic vanilla. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; gently fold into the sweet concoction. Add chocolate chips and let sit.
  • Combine cream cheese and 1/4 cup white sugar in a separate bowl, then add the last 2 eggs and mix well.
  • Press half of the chocolate chip dough evenly into the base of the pan. Pour the cream cheese batter over the dough, then sprinkle with pecans. Drop spoonfuls of the rest of the chocolate chip batter on top. Embrace any gaps as the batter will naturally spread while baking.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
