Flaky puff pastry squares filled with luscious chocolate mousse, made effortlessly with puff pastry, chocolate pudding mix, and whipped topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry (such as Pepperidge Farm®), thawed
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar for dusting, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • On a lightly floured surface, lay out both sheets of puff pastry. Cut each sheet into 3 strips along the fold marks, then further divide each strip into 4 squares to yield 12 pastry squares per sheet. Transfer the squares onto a baking sheet.
  • Place the squares in the preheated oven and bake until the puff pastry turns a beautiful golden brown, approximately 15 minutes. Allow the squares to cool completely before serving.
  • Combine pudding mix and milk until thick and smooth. Allow it to stand for 3 minutes to thicken. Gently fold in whipped topping. Transfer the chocolate mousse mixture to a pastry bag with a medium tip.
  • Carefully open each pastry square with a finger or butter knife, creating a small pocket. Fill each pocket with 1 tablespoon of chocolate mousse until just full, allowing a bit of mousse to peek out. Sprinkle pastries with a light dusting of confectioners' sugar before serving.
