Decadent chocolate frosted cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 0.5 cup chopped black walnuts
  • 2.5 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, blend 1/2 cup of butter or margarine with 1 cup of light brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg thoroughly. Mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Alternate adding sifted flour with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 3/4 cup of milk to the mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in melted chocolate, then add nuts.
  • Spoon small mounds onto greased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack, then frost with Chocolate Icing.
  • Prepare the icing by combining 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and confectioners' sugar. Gradually add milk while mixing until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved. Frost the cookies generously with the icing.
