Elevate boxed brownie mix with pudding and coffee liqueur for a decadent chocolate-mocha trifle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®), or to taste
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions:
  • - Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine the brownie mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a mixing bowl until you have a smooth batter, then pour it into the prepared baking dish.
  • Once the brownies are done baking, cool them completely. Use a chopstick or the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the brownies, spacing them about 1/2-inch apart, then drizzle coffee liqueur generously over the top. Let the brownies sit for 5 minutes to absorb the flavorful liqueur.
  • Whisk chocolate pudding mix with cold milk in a bowl until thickened, about 2 minutes. Let it stand for an additional 5 minutes to set.
  • To create the dessert, cube the brownies and layer 1/3 of them in a glass trifle bowl. Add a layer of pudding followed by whipped topping. Repeat the layers twice, finishing with whipped topping on top. Chill for a minimum of 4 hours before serving.
