Chocolate Mint Crinkles

Indulgent homemade holiday crinkle cookies topped with peppermint Hershey's Kisses.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Hershey's® Kisses® Brand mint or candy cane flavored candies
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, baking cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, oil, and eggs until well combined. Mix in vanilla and peppermint extract for added flavor.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Roll tablespoon-size balls of dough in powdered sugar and place on cookie sheets 1 1/2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until cookies crackle and dough is no longer raw. Place a KISSES candy in the center of each cookie as soon as they are done baking, gently press down. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely until the candy sets.
