Indulge in decadent chocolate mousse brownies - simple for any day, yet sophisticated for entertaining.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Unsweetened baking cocoa, if desired
  • Whipped cream, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray. Prepare the brownie batter according to the instructions on the box and spread it in the pan.
  • In a small saucepan, gently heat 1/2 cup of whipping cream with chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Let it cool for 5 minutes before using.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat 2 eggs and sugar until foamy (about 1 minute). Then, on low speed, blend in the cream-chocolate mixture. Pour the mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for 30 to 34 minutes until the topping is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Let it cool completely on a cooling rack for about 2 hours, then refrigerate until chilled, for about 1 hour. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows, sprinkle cocoa on top, and serve with whipped cream. Store loosely covered in the refrigerator.
