Indulgent chocolate mousse made easy with eggs, cream, sugar, and semisweet chocolate. Simple steps similar to heating milk on the stove. Master this decadent dessert effortlessly.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a small bowl, use an electric mixer on high speed to beat the egg yolks for about 3 minutes until they are thick and have a lemon color. Gradually mix in the sugar.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, heat 1 cup of whipping cream over medium heat until hot. Slowly whisk at least half of the hot cream into the egg yolk mixture, then stir it back into the saucepan. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens (avoid boiling). Add chocolate and stir until melted. Chill covered in the refrigerator for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally until cold.
  • Whisk 1 1/2 cups of chilled whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture. Transfer the mixture into serving bowls using a piping bag or spoon. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
