Chocolate-Cinnamon Sundae Cake

Spice up chocolate cake and sundaes with Bisquick Heart Smart®!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cups Bisquick Heart Smart® mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup fat-free egg product, 2 egg whites or 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup fat-free (skim) milk
  • 3 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 cup chocolate-flavor syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint (2 cups) vanilla reduced-fat ice cream, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray, then lightly flour it.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to blend all ingredients, excluding the chocolate syrup, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and the ice cream on low speed for 30 seconds, making sure to scrape the bowl often. Increase the speed to medium and beat for an additional 4 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Transfer the mixture to a pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, gently warm chocolate syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Serve the sauce warm or allow it to cool. Drizzle the sauce over a warm or chilled cake and pair it with a scoop of ice cream.
