Decadent breakfast treat, ideal for leisurely weekends, best enjoyed with a steaming cup of coffee.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Combine 1 1/3 cups of flour with brown sugar in a bowl. Mix in butter until crumbly, then add pecans and set aside. In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to beat cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour, beat until well blended. Then add 1 egg and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, beat until smooth.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions. Spread the batter into a pan. Add dollops of cream cheese mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife. Sprinkle the reserved pecan mixture on top. Bake for 45 minutes or until firm. Allow to cool entirely on a cooling rack.
  • Combine powdered sugar, milk, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla in a small bowl, then whisk until smooth. Drizzle the mixture over the coffee cake.
