Learn to make a unique twist on upside-down cake with Chef Paula Jones from Bell'alimento.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 4 firm ripe bananas, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously grease a 13x9-inch rectangular pan with your preferred method.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix, water, oil, and eggs on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase the speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Combine softened butter and rich brown sugar in a small bowl, then pour the mixture into the pan. Arrange banana halves on top, randomly spoon dollops of creamy peanut butter over the bananas, and finally pour the cake batter on top.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving platter. Cut into 4 rows by 3 rows.
