Savory rye bread rounds filled with creamy chive cream cheese, cucumber slices, and fresh basil for delicious and easy tea sandwiches.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 12 slices rye bread
  • 1 English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 24 leaves fresh basil
Instructions:
  • Use an electric mixer to blend cream cheese and half-and-half until creamy; then mix in chives for added flavor.
  • Cut 24 rounds using a large round cookie cutter from the bread slices. Spread cream cheese mixture on each round and then top with 1-2 cucumber slices and a basil leaf. If preparing in advance, lightly cover the tea sandwiches with plastic wrap and chill.
