Indulge in homemade cinnamon raisin swirl bread made effortlessly in a bread machine, yielding two sweet and delicious loaves ideal for toasting.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions:
  • In the bread machine, combine warm water, milk, shortening, salt, flour, sugar, and yeast in the specified order. Choose the cycle and start.
  • Add raisins to the bread machine at the Fruit setting signal or 5 minutes before the kneading cycle ends.
  • Once the dough has finished its first rising cycle, transfer it from the machine to a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter on the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough tightly, cut it in half, and place each half into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Cover with a dish towel and allow it to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon of melted butter over the tops of the risen loaves.
  • Bake in the oven until the crust is golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped, for about 30 to 40 minutes.
