Fluffy biscuit dough with cinnamon-raisin swirls.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup raisins
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) while preparing a 12-cup muffin tin with greased cups or paper liners.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix in shortening until it looks like coarse cornmeal. Add milk to dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently 8 to 10 times before rolling out to a 12-inch square.
  • Spread butter delicately over the dough, then mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins, and evenly sprinkle this delicious mixture on top of the dough. Roll the dough up loosely like a jelly-roll, seal the edge, and cut into twelve 1-inch thick slices. Place these delectable swirls in the prepared muffin tins.
  • Place in a hot oven for 14 to 18 minutes until beautifully golden. Take out of the oven right away and serve while warm.
