Delicious homemade bread with a cinnamon, walnut, and raisin filling that's perfectly balanced in sweetness. Irresistibly good!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk, room temperature
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 0.67 cup brown sugar
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Add milk, an egg, two luscious tablespoons of butter, a pinch of salt, 3 tablespoons of sugar, flour, and yeast into the bread machine pan. Choose the Dough cycle setting, then press start.
  • Once the cycle is finished, take the dough out of the machine, gently deflate it, and allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 24x10 inch rectangle.
  • 1. Coat the dough generously with 3 tablespoons of melted butter, then generously sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, 1 cup of nuts, and raisins. Roll up tightly, jelly roll style starting from the longer side. Place on a greased baking sheet, form into a ring, and seal the ends. Mist lightly with warm water, cover with dampened plastic wrap, and allow to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) while whisking 1 egg with 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Before baking, generously coat the dough with the egg mixture and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of walnuts. Bake in a preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. If it starts browning too fast, simply cover it with foil and keep baking until done.
