Create cinnamon bread dough in bread machine, wrap around walnut-cinnamon filling, bake in oven.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons sifted confectioners' sugar, divided
Instructions:
  • Add milk, eggs, butter, flour, sugar, salt, and yeast into a bread machine following the recommended order or as listed. Set it to run the Dough cycle for approximately 90 minutes.
  • Place the dough onto a floured work surface, gently punch it down to remove excess air, and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the filling by combining walnuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Divide the dough into two halves. Roll each half into a 9x14-inch rectangle. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on each rectangle and sprinkle half of the walnut mixture on each. Roll each rectangle starting from the shorter end, then pinch to seal the seams.
  • Grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans. Place the rolled loaves in the pans with the seams facing down. Cover and let rise until almost doubled in size, around 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped. If they brown too quickly, cover with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • Take out of the oven and allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling. Sprinkle loaves with confectioners' sugar.
