Indulgent cinnamon roll French toast casserole, a decadent treat for holiday brunch or dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 stick butter, softened, or as needed
  • 1 (16 ounce) loaf cinnamon swirl bread (such as Pepperidge Farm®)
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Spread butter on 6 slices of cinnamon swirl bread and layer them butter-side down in a casserole dish. Top with another 6 slices of buttered bread, placing them butter-side down as well.
  • Combine milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a bowl until silky. Pour over bread in the casserole dish. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect bake.
  • Set the casserole dish inside a larger pan and carefully add water to the outer pan without getting any water into the casserole.
  • Bake in the oven until a knife inserted in the center comes out mostly clean, approximately 50 minutes.
