Delicious homemade chocolate chip bread with cinnamon-sugar swirl, irresistible and visually stunning.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons warm water
  • cooking spray
  • 1 cup warm nonfat milk
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3.5 cups bread flour, or more as needed
  • Filling and Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
  • Combine yeast and warm water until fully dissolved, allowing it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Generously spray a large bowl with cooking spray.
  • Combine warm milk, melted butter, egg, and salt with yeast mixture; whisk vigorously for 1 minute. Slowly incorporate flour until dough is smooth.
  • Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface or in a stand mixer with a bread hook. Transfer dough to a bowl and coat with cooking spray. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Take the dough out of the bowl, punch and fold it, then roll it out into a 9x18-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter and most of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Add chopped chocolate. Gently roll up the dough from the short end, pinch the seam closed, and place it seam-side down in the loaf pan. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Coat dough with beaten egg and dust with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until the top turns a beautiful golden brown, for about 40 to 45 minutes. Gently remove the loaf from the pan onto a work surface and allow it to cool on a wire rack.
