Delicious and hearty lasagna with whole wheat noodles, ground beef, rich sauce, and gooey mozzarella - perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients:
  • 12 whole wheat lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, or to taste
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cottage cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 4.5 cups tomato-basil pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • 1. Boil a generous amount of lightly salted water in a large pot. Add lasagna noodles and cook for about 10 minutes or until they are perfectly al dente. Drain the noodles.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, garlic, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, stirring occasionally, until beef is crumbly and evenly browned, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Combine cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and eggs in a large bowl until well mixed.
  • Begin by arranging 4 noodles in a single layer at the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. Layer with tomato-basil sauce, ground beef mixture, and cottage cheese mixture. Repeat layers two more times, finishing with a layer of sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and cover with aluminum foil before baking.
  • Bake the lasagna in a preheated oven until it's bubbling and the cheese has melted, for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese starts to brown. Let it stand for at least 10 minutes before serving.
