Classic Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

Indulge in a decadent chocolate pecan bar featuring Gold Medal® flour - a divine dessert treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon, if desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 bag (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Combine flour, brown sugar, and butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer or a spoon. Press the mixture into the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch rectangular pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients in a medium bowl until fully combined. Then, pour the mixture over the partially baked crust.
  • Bake until set, approximately 30-35 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows for bars and store covered in the refrigerator.
