Elevate snickerdoodle cookies with vibrant colors, perfect for any festive occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup green sanding sugar
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and place cooking parchment paper on cookie sheets.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon; set aside. In a separate large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer on medium speed. Add eggs and beat well. Slowly blend in the flour mixture on low speed until fully incorporated.
  • Combine green sanding sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl. In a separate small bowl, mix red sanding sugar and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls and coat half of them in the green sugar mixture and the other half in the red sugar mixture. Place the balls 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake until golden and set, about 12 to 14 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks.
