Classic Southern chocolate Coca Cola cake with buttermilk, marshmallows, and a decadent cocoa pecan frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoons cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring butter, cola soft drink, and cocoa to a boil. Pour the mixture over the flour and sugar, then mix thoroughly.
  • Combine marshmallows, buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla until mixture is smooth. Transfer batter into the prepared dish.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick comes out clean, approximately 40 minutes. Spread cola frosting over warm cake.
  • Create a delectable cola frosting by melting butter, cola soft drink, and cocoa in a saucepan over high heat until it boils. Then, pour the mixture over confectioners' sugar in a big bowl and stir thoroughly. Finally, add in chopped nuts for an irresistible finishing touch.
