Savory beef and noodle casserole with cheesy tomato mushroom sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 (7 ounce) cans tomato sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 0.5 cup chopped green onions
  • 0.5 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Cook the pasta for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente, then drain.
  • Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink; drain excess fat. Stir in one can of tomato sauce, along with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Transfer the mixture to a 3-quart baking dish.
  • Layer noodles evenly, then spoon over cottage cheese. Sprinkle with onions and Cheddar cheese before pouring over the remaining can of tomato sauce.
  • Bake in a hot oven for 30 minutes.
