Create delicious homemade pumpkin puree using fresh sugar pumpkin. Say goodbye to canned pumpkin for good!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (4 pound) sugar pumpkin
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Cut the pumpkin into small pieces, removing and discarding the pith and seeds.
  • Arrange the cut pumpkin pieces, skin-side up, in a spacious roasting pan and pour in enough water to reach a depth of 1/4 inch.
  • Bake uncovered for 1 hour until tender. Allow to cool for 10-20 minutes after removing from the oven.
  • Peel skin off of cooled pumpkin pieces. Put pumpkin flesh in a food processor and blend until smooth, or mash in a bowl using a potato masher.
